Since joining Beck Engineering, Mr. Newman has worked on
a variety of civil and structural engineering projects in the Oil & Gas
Industry. Mr. Newman has completed civil and structural design, analysis and
review of new and existing Oil & Gas facilities including the following:

Design of foundations for
buildings, skid packages, storage and process tanks, horizontal and
vertical vessels, compressors, flare stacks, and pipeline anchors,
including the analysis and design of foundations subject to dynamic
loads using dynamic analysis software.

Design and analysis of structures including
buildings, skid packages, pipe racks, pipeline anchors, vessel supports,
stacks and miscellaneous equipment.

Design of engineered lift procedures for heavy
equipment, including selection of lifting equipment, selection and
design of rigging, analysis and design of lifting attachments, and
preparation and review of procedures for transportation, offloading,
installation and removal of equipment/structures.

Inspection, review, and assessment of concrete, steel,
and wood structures including special structures such as bridges,
retaining walls, overhead cranes, sulphur pits and truck weigh scales.

Engineering Firms
Lead civil and structural engineer on projects for EPCM
companies in the Oil & Gas Industry. Work includes analysis and overall
review of foundations and structures to support equipment, buildings, and
piping as well as roadway construction and site drainage plans.

Structural analysis and design of domestic and
international equipment packages and steel structures including skids,
overhead crane structures, trailers, stacks, vessel ladders and platforms, and
reprocessed/salvaged packages on a case specific basis. Documentation
suitable for third party review was provided as requested.

Specialty Rigging & Construction Companies
Design/review of equipment used for rigging (i.e.,
manbaskets, jibs, temporary structures, specialty lift devices). Development
of heavy lift crane rigging studies for equipment repairs, installations,
and demolitions.

Oil & Gas Companies / Industrial Companies
Assisted internal engineering teams with civil and
structural engineering services. Provided engineering design services for
structures and foundations for vessels, buildings, piping, platforms, as
well as roadway construction and site drainage plans. Assisted with
feasibility studies for potential projects. Gave emergency repair advice to
remove equipment (or augment equipment supports for future replacement) due
to fire damage, corrosion damage, or otherwise accidentally damaged
equipment or support systems.
